No, they didn’t sit down to trade stories about your career, but if they did, you’d be set for life. Each one brings something unique to the table: hindsight, foresight, and insight. Together, they create a powerful trio that can help you navigate your career more strategically.

  • The Mentor: Hindsight - uses their experience to look back on the path they've walked and guide you based on what they've learned.

  • The Sponsor: Foresight - uses their position and influence to look ahead and create opportunities for your future growth, often seeing things you can't yet see.

  • The Coach: Insight - helps you gain clarity by offering insight into your strengths, blind spots, and the best path forward, helping you refine your strategy and approach.

When I first had the idea of starting my own business, I knew I couldn’t do it alone. I pulled together the best people in my circle—folks with different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives—to help me get it off the ground. I didn’t call them my “board of directors” back then, but looking back, that’s exactly what they were.
