When Life Happens: Giving Yourself Grace

You may have noticed I didn’t post last week… or maybe you didn’t (ha!).

Either way, let’s talk about it.

Life happened, and instead of forcing a blog out just to say I did, I gave myself grace. And honestly? That felt like the most aligned thing I could do. Because that’s exactly what this month is about—alignment over hustle.

March is a season of checking in with ourselves, making sure the things we’re doing actually match what we want, and letting go of anything that no longer fits. We’re moving with intention—not pressure. Less forcing, more flowing.

So this month, I’m leaning into that. And I’m inviting you to do the same.

When Things Don’t Go as Planned

We’ve all been there—plans set, goals in motion, everything scheduled down to the minute. And then? Life interrupts. Work gets hectic, unexpected responsibilities pop up, or maybe we just hit a wall. And in that moment, we have two choices: force it or adjust.

For a long time, I operated from a “just push through” mindset. I’d sacrifice sleep, energy, and peace just to check something off the list. Because somewhere along the way, I equated productivity with worth—as if the only way to prove I was doing enough was by constantly doing.

But here’s the truth: There’s a difference between discipline and depletion.

Giving yourself grace isn’t about making excuses. It’s about recognizing when pushing forward would come at too high a cost. And instead of forcing yourself into burnout, you choose rest. You choose realignment. You choose to trust that missing one step won’t stop your entire journey.

The Power of Grace

Giving yourself grace means:
Knowing when to pause without guilt
✅ Understanding that rest is part of the process, not a reward for exhaustion
✅ Releasing the pressure to be constantly productive
✅ Trusting that your consistency speaks louder than one missed moment

We don’t need to earn ease. We don’t have to justify rest. And we definitely don’t have to prove our worth by overextending ourselves.

Moving Forward with Alignment

So, this month, I challenge you to check in with yourself. Are you forcing things that don’t fit? Are you pushing through when you really need to pause? Are you holding yourself to a standard that leaves no room for grace?

Alignment isn’t about doing less—it’s about doing what actually matters. It’s about making sure that the things you pour into are pouring back into you.

Because the goal isn’t just to move—it’s to move in the right direction.

So here’s to a month of alignment over hustle. Let’s do this with clarity, ease, and the grace we all deserve.

‘Cause wah fi yuh, cyaan un fi yuh.
